Terms & Conditions for On-Site and Online Lessons

Please read these terms and conditions of use carefully before using this website.

Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy, govern thefrenchspot.com.au's relationship with you in relation to your use of this website.

We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of these terms at any time. Please check these terms regularly prior to using our website to ensure you are aware of any changes

By using this website, you signify your acceptance of these terms and conditions of use. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, "Us", "Our" and "We" refer to thefrenchspot.com.au and "You" and "Your" refer to you, the client, visitor, website user or person using our website.

COURSE FEES

• Group classes, including the conversation group class, are not à la carte. They are required to be paid on a term basis, generally 10 consecutive lessons or 12 consecutive lessons over 10 or 12 weeks depending on the course.
• Students are expected to have completed full payment fees with proof of payment prior to the first session.
• Late payments will incur a 5% surcharge of the total invoice.
• Payments must be made to The French Spot through electronic bank transfer (EFT).
• Invoice number is required when completing payment.
• Textbooks are not included in the course fees and must be purchased separately.

CANCELLATION POLICY

For Group Classes (Adults and Kids), Kids Holiday Workshops, and Private Classes (3 people +)

• If you cancel one week or more before the course starts, we will process a full refund.
• If you cancel less than one week before the course starts, we will process a 50% refund.
• If you cancel during the term/during your bundle or if you miss a class or classes which is/are part of your bundle, we will not process any refund or accept any transfer to a future course.
• If you miss a beginner level 1 or level 2 group class for adults, we can arrange a 45-minute catch-up lesson for a fee of $55, depending on the teacher's availabilities. If no teacher is available, we can provide photocopies if any about the class missed. Catch up lessons are limited to 2 per person and per level. We do not offer catch-up lessons for other adult group classes, private classes and kids group classes. 
• After the trial lesson, private classes are to be bought in a bundle of 5 classes minimum.
• If a course is cancelled due to an insufficient number of students or unexpected circumstances, you will be notified and we will process a full refund.
• If you arrive late, miss classes or are expelled because of misconduct, we will not process any refund.
• Trial lessons must be paid prior to attending the lesson. If you cancel your trial lesson less than 24 hours before your lesson, the fee must still be paid.
• The first private lesson and trial lessons in group classes can only be postponed once.
• Deposits to secure a spot in a class are non-refundable.

High School Tutoring, Private Lessons and Semi-Private Lessons

• If you cancel more than 24 hours before your lesson, we will process a full refund. This excludes bundles of 10 lessons.
• Bundles of 10 lessons are not refundable once bought.
• If you cancel less than 24 hours before your lesson, we will not process any refund or postpone the lesson to a later date. This includes trial lessons.
• If you arrive late, miss classes or are expelled because of misconduct, we will not process any refund.
• If a class is cancelled due to unexpected circumstances, you will be notified and we will process a full refund. 
• Bundles of 10 lessons are to be used within 12 weeks. Extenuating circumstances may be considered.
• The free lesson included in the bundle of 10 lessons is offered only when the bundle is paid by the due date and when the 10 lessons are used within 12 weeks. Extenuating circumstances may be considered.

On-Site Kids Classes, Teens Classes and High School Tutoring

• We require a parental consent form for your child in case of a problem or emergency.
• Please fill out this document and bring it completed prior to the first class.

Gift Certificates

• Gift Certificates are to be used within 3 months of the issue date and are not refundable once bought.

Please note that The French Spot selects the class and the teacher that best corresponds to the student’s language level. Any change of class or teacher requires the approval of the course director.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

It is an essential pre-condition to you using our website that you agree and accept that thefrenchspot.com.au is not legally responsible for any loss or damage you might suffer related to your use of the website, whether from errors or from omissions in our documents or information, any goods or services we may offer or from any other use of the website. Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we all not be liable.

It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this website meet your specific, personal requirements. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By using our services, you agree that thefrenchspot.com.au is not to be held liable for any decisions you make based on any of our services or guidance and any consequences, as a result, are your own. Under no circumstances can you hold thefrenchspot.com.au liable for any actions you take nor can you hold us or any of our employees liable for any loss or costs incurred by you as a result of any guidance, advice, coaching or materials used or provided by thefrenchspot.com.au.

You must be over 18 years of age to use this website and to purchase any goods or services.
